Job summary

Hunt St Pty Ltd is seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant based in the Philippines to join the client’s finance team. The initial focus is Accounts Payable, with duties across AR, payroll and general accounting support. This full remote engagement is offered as an independent contractor arrangement.

Work aligns with AU business hours (approx 9am–5pm) with flexibility in time management. You will process supplier invoices, match against POs, reconcile statements, set up customers in MYOB, issue

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Accounts Payable or an Assistant Accountant role.
• Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A degree in Accounting or a related discipline is highly desirable.
• MYOB experience is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience in construction, project-based businesses is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier and subcontractor invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
• Match invoices against purchase orders, delivery dockets and approvals.
• Review invoice coding and ensure appropriate authorisation.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with weekly supplier payment runs.
• Maintain supplier records and respond to supplier enquiries.
• Process expense claims and reconcile credit card transactions.
• Set up new customers in MYOB and maintain accurate customer records.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices and progress claims.
• Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up overdue accounts.
• Allocate customer receipts and reconcile customer accounts.
• Resolve invoicing and payment discrepancies.
• Assist with debtor reporting and cash-flow forecasting.
• Perform bank reconciliations and assist with balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with payroll processing and related reconciliations.
• Support month-end reporting and general ledger maintenance.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Provide accounting support to the finance team.
• Previous experience in Accounts Payable or an Assistant Accountant role.
