Job summary

Somnomed Philippines Inc. in Makati is seeking a Reliability Engineer to lead the equipment maintenance team and ensure reliability and availability of production equipment through preventive and predictive maintenance activities.

Responsibilities include directing technicians, coordinating with external providers, enforcing safety protocols, and developing standards aligned with ISO 13485 and GMP. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• PRC licensed engineer.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written).
• Meticulous, well-organized, and team-oriented.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledgeable in AutoCAD 2D & 3D drawing generation.

Responsibilities

• Formulates and deploys preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, standardized procedures, and operational protocols for all manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Directs and supervises the equipment maintenance technicians’ team to ensure the prompt execution of corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance tasks, aimed at minimizing equipment downtime and sustaining high levels of equipment availability and operational efficiency within the manufacturing environment.
• Coordinates with external maintenance service providers to ensure alignment with internal maintenance standards, project timelines, and technical requirements; facilitates effective collaboration to support equipment upgrades, reliability improvements, and capital improvement initiatives.
• Promotes a culture of safety by enforcing compliance with established safety protocols and proactively implementing risk mitigation strategies during all maintenance activities to ensure a safe working environment for personnel and equipment.
• Establishes equipment maintenance standards, procedures and documentations in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g. ISO 13485, GMP, etc)
• Collaborates with CFT to drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, equipment performance, and long-term sustainability in line with the departmental KPIs.

As the Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in a medical manufacturing facility in Makati. Reporting to our Facilities and Maintenance Manager, this position will lead the equipment maintenance team to ensure the reliability and availability of all our production related equipment to achieve quality, operational and production objectives, through both preventative and reactive maintenance activities.

Experience and Education

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering course
• PRC licensed Engineer
