Job summary

Somnomed Philippines Inc. in Makati seeks an Associate Facilities & Maintenance Engineer to lead a facilities team and ensure the reliability of production equipment.

The role reports to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager and focuses on preventative and reactive maintenance to meet quality and production targets. You will develop maintenance plans, minimize downtime, supervise technicians, coordinate with service providers, and maintain comprehensive records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering and PRC license.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in HVAC, compressed air, vacuum and exhaust system maintenance preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and maintenance documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement maintenance plans to keep production equipment reliable.
• Minimize downtime by coordinating maintenance schedules and tasks.
• Monitor time-based verification and maintenance calendars.
• Apply root-cause analysis to identify failure causes.
• Supervise maintenance technicians during troubleshooting and tasks.

Brief Summary of Task

As the Associate Facilities & Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in a medical manufacturing facility in Makati. Reporting to our Facilities and Maintenance Manager, this position will assist with leading the facilities and maintenance team to ensure the reliability and availability of all our production‑related equipment to achieve quality, operational, and production objectives through both preventative and reactive maintenance activities.

Job responsibilities:

• Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure the facility is in optimum condition to achieve the operational requirements. This includes creating equipment maintenance work instructions & SOPs standardizing activities.
• Minimize downtime through coordinating equipment maintenance schedules and conducting maintenance tasks.
• Monitors time-based verification, calibration & maintenance schedule.
• Using fault-finding and root cause analysis methodologies to accurately and efficiently identify the cause of the issues or failures.
• Manage and supervise facilities maintenance technicians in carrying out troubleshooting activities in response to issues that slow or disrupt production.
• Engaging with maintenance service providers as needed to ensure effective support and collaboration where necessary.
• Maintaining control over maintenance tools, spare parts & equipment.
• Implementation of improvement activities to support operation efficiency and sustainability.
• Maintains records of all implemented documents, service reports, certificates, etc.
• Oversees and manages facility construction, renovation, and improvement projects.
• Liaise & collaborate with other departments to address facility issues.

Experience and Education

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering course
• PRC licensed Engineer
• Good in Oral and Written Communication
• Preferably with experience in HVAC, Compressed air, Vacuum and Exhaust sytem Maintenance.
• Able to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Experienced in constructing maintenance-related procedures and work instructions
• Knowledgeable in AutoCad 2D & 3D drawing generation
