Job summary

WeSupport Incorporated is seeking a Release Manager to own the release management lifecycle for multiple applications. You will schedule, coordinate, and manage releases across portfolios while collaborating with developers, testers, and project managers to optimize build and test environments.

The role requires 5+ years in release management or related fields, strong knowledge of the software development life cycle and ITIL principles, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in release management, project management, or service transition.
• Advanced knowledge of software development life cycle.
• Advanced knowledge in ITIL.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross functional work teams toward task completion.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• General PC knowledge including MS Office.
• ITIL certification (nice to have).
• Experience with deploying packaged applications (nice to have).
• Experience in banking application or systems (nice to have).

Responsibilities

About the role

The Release Manager owns the release management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating, and the management of releases across the enterprise for multiple applications across various portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and manage release processes for code through development, test, and production environment
• Work collaboratively with all participants in software development projects and support developers and testers as they set up their build and test environments
• Build the release calendar in working closely with project managers of different portfolios across IT and centralizing view of all releases
• Forward plan the release windows and cycles across a portfolio
• Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
• Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations
• Conduct release readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and business go/no go reviews
• Produce deployment, run books, and implementation plans
• Participate in change control board meetings to discuss release scope and roadblocks
