Job summary

Scorpio Group is seeking a Recruitment Manager to lead the step-by-step recruitment process for new applicants, coordinating with Operations and Fleet Managers for open positions.

In the absence of the Recruitment Manager, the Deputy Recruitment Officer will assume all recruitment-related tasks. The role requires extensive experience in crew manning, recruitment, or ship management, with leadership or junior managerial responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Marine Transportation, Marine Engineering, or any bachelor’s degree.
• Preferable to have commanded as a Junior Officer for 2+ years or hold a senior management license if technically inclined.
• Extensive experience in crew manning, recruitment or ship management for 2+ years in a junior managerial role, technical background.
• Extensive experience in crew manning, recruitment or ship management for 3+ years in a junior managerial role, non-technical background.

Responsibilities

• Ensure initial interviews of all applicants are conducted per company requirements.
• Maintain recruitment reports and propose improvements to the process.
• Source prospective candidates through various recruitment schemes.
• Maintain original seafarer documents and assess retention/pool readiness for future needs.
• Monitor CBT examinations to ensure fair and honest completion.
• Endorse qualified applicants to Crew Managers for proposals.
• Oversee cadetship program monitoring.
• Monitor and manage relatives of applicants for timely deployment.

Job description

The Recruitment Manager is the one responsible for the step-by-step recruitment procedure for new applicants. He coordinates with the Operations Manager and Fleet Manager for all open positions.

In the absence of the Recruitment Manager, the Deputy Recruitment Officer will take over all his task related to recruitment matters.

Qualifications

1. Must be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation or Marine Engineering or any bachelor’s degree course.
2. Preferable to have commanded as a Junior Officer for a minimum of 2 years or possess a senior management license if of technical background.
3. Must have an extensive experience in crew manning, recruitment or Shipmanagement for a minimum of 2 years holding a Junior Managerial position or its equivalent if of technical background.
4. Must have an extensive experience in crew manning, recruitment or Shipmanagement for a minimum of 3 years holding a Junior Managerial position or its equivalent if of non-technical background.

Core Job Functions

1. The Recruitment Manager ensures that the initial interview of all new applicants has been conducted as per company requirements.
2. The Recruitment Manager maintains the recruitment report pertaining to the statistics of approval and rejection ratio of all ranks and proposes solutions to improve the recruitment processes.
3. The Recruitment Manager is responsible for sourcing of prospective candidates through various recruitment schemes.
4. The Recruitment Manager is responsible for keeping the original documents of the seafarers and assess the crew if qualified for retention/pool for future requirements.
5. The Recruitment Manager is responsible in monitoring all CBT examination, making sure that they are properly completed and conducted honestly and fairly.
6. He is responsible for endorsing the qualified applicants to the Crew Managers for their proposal.
7. He is the overall responsible for the monitoring of the company’s cadetship program.
8. He is responsible for the monitoring of all recommended relatives, ensuring that they will be properly managed and deployed in a timely manner.
