Job summary

Optum, a UnitedHealth Group company, is seeking a SOC Operator to support the Enterprise Security Operations Center in Manila. The role focuses on real-time monitoring, incident intake, documentation, and escalation to ensure rapid, coordinated responses across security and safety events.

The position is in-person within the SOC and requires following established procedures to protect people, facilities, and data.

Qualifications

• Experience in security operations or related operational role.
• Familiarity with SOC or RSOC environments and 24/7 operations.
• Ability to follow established procedures and escalations in time-sensitive situations.
• Strong written and verbal communication for operational docs and coordination.
• High attention to detail when handling security-related information.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, shift-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor enterprise physical security systems, alarms, and dashboards in real time to identify potential incidents.
• Serve as primary intake point for incidents via phone, email, alarms, or system notifications.
• Triage security events using procedures to determine priority, actions, and escalation level.
• Accurately document incidents, actions taken, and outcomes in incident management systems.
• Maintain awareness of active incidents and provide timely updates during progression.
• Respond to emergency alerts and safety activations and coordinate appropriate response.
• Participate in structured shift handovers to ensure continuity of incident ownership.
• Escalate incidents that exceed thresholds or deviate from procedures to senior staff.
• Adhere to security policies, governance standards, and confidentiality requirements.
• Comply with employment terms and company policies and directives.
