Job summary

Mastercard Inc. is seeking a Manager, Risk Management to mature risk identification, ownership and reporting across real-time payments markets.

You will partner with product, engineering, operations and risk teams to identify and manage key risks, while building a culture of accountability and proactive risk ownership. You will translate complex risk requirements into practical actions, delivering insightful reporting and driving resilience, automation and continuous improvement across the three

Qualifications

• Have advanced, applied knowledge of risk and control frameworks and the three lines of defence model, ideally within technology, payments or financial services.
• Be able to identify, assess, monitor and manage operational and technology risks, providing constructive and proportionate challenge to the business.
• Combine strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex issues and translate risk requirements into practical, sustainable actions.
• Be a clear and confident communicator, able to produce insightful risk reporting and influence stakeholders across product, engineering and risk teams.
• Be comfortable operating across organisational boundaries, building trusted relationships and promoting risk ownership and accountability.
• Working knowledge of GRC tooling (e.g. Archer, OpenPages).
• Familiarity with operational resilience, business continuity and audit/assurance activities.
• Understanding of real-time payments or critical payment infrastructure.
• A relevant professional risk qualification or certification.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product, engineering, operations and risk teams to identify, assess, monitor and manage key risks and controls, providing constructive challenge where appropriate.
• Monitor the risk and control environment, identifying emerging risks, trends, issues and areas requiring management attention or escalation.
• Support risk and control assessments, assurance activities, operational resilience, business continuity and audit, and drive the effective remediation of identified weaknesses.
• Maintain high-quality risk information and deliver clear, insightful reporting to support management decision-making.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and improve risk and control processes, monitoring and reporting.
• Build strong relationships across the business, promoting a strong culture of risk ownership and accountability.
