Job summary

Mastercard seeks a Manager, Risk Management within the First Line Risk & Controls team of Real-Time Payments International (RTPI) to mature risk identification, ownership, management and reporting across real-time payments markets.

You will partner with product, engineering, operations and risk teams, translate complex risk requirements into actionable steps, and drive remediation of identified weaknesses while delivering high-quality risk reporting for executive decision-making.

Overview

The First Line Risk & Controls team within Real-Time Payments International (RTPI) is looking for a Manager, Risk Management to help mature how we identify, own, manage and report risk across our real-time payments markets. We are seeking an experienced risk and controls professional with a strong background in technology, payments or financial services.

You will be comfortable working across product, engineering, operations and risk teams, able to understand complex issues, challenge constructively and translate risk requirements into practical actions. You will combine strong analytical skills with a pragmatic approach to risk and control management.

The Role

• Partner with product, engineering, operations and risk teams to identify, assess, monitor and manage key risks and controls, providing constructive challenge where appropriate.

All About You

• Have advanced, applied knowledge of risk and control frameworks and the three lines of defence model, ideally within technology, payments or financial services.
• Be able to identify, assess, monitor and manage operational and technology risks, providing constructive and proportionate challenge to the business.
• Combine strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex issues and translate risk requirements into practical, sustainable actions.
• Be a clear and confident communicator, able to produce insightful risk reporting and influence stakeholders across product, engineering and risk teams.
• Be comfortable operating across organisational boundaries, building trusted relationships and promoting risk ownership and accountability.

Desirable Or Additional Capabilities:

• Working knowledge of GRC tooling (e.g. Archer, OpenPages).
• Familiarity with operational resilience, business continuity and audit/assurance activities.
• Understanding of real-time payments or critical payment infrastructure.
• A relevant professional risk qualification or certification.
