Job summary

Kajima Philippines Inc. is seeking a licensed Civil Engineer with a strong background in quantity surveying to lead bid estimation and cost control on project proposals. You will handle bid documentation, take-offs, and coordination with co-engineers in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires hands-on experience with planswift, MS Office, and knowledge of ISO quality standards; you will review subcontractor proposals and ensure compliance with bid specs while maintaining project standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Must be a licensed Civil Engineer.
• Minimum 5 years’ pro-active experience in quantity surveying (project).
• Hands-on knowledge of bid documentation, procedures, quantity take-offs, cost control.
• Fully conversant with Microsoft Office & Planswift.
• ISO quality standards knowledge is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Interface with co-engineers; secure all documents, plans and specs for comprehensive bid assessments.
• Review, analyze & evaluate proposals from subcontractors/suppliers.
• Develop construction methodology and standards as defined by bid documents.
• Create construction standards for estimating system; produce parameter reports.
• Solicit quotations from material/equipment suppliers and verify pricing vs specs.
• Perform quantity take-offs and prepare estimates per bid documents.
• Maintain knowledge of Philippine and international codes and standards.
• Provide timely re-estimates for redesigned/value-engineered projects; ensure KTMS.PH compliance.
• Implement changes to processes related to KTMS.PH Integrated Management System.

Job description

• With a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
• Must be a licensed Civil Engineer
• At minimum 5 years’ pro-active experience in quantity surveying (project)
• With hands-on knowledge of, and experience with bid documentations, procedures, quantity take offs, cost control
• Fully conversant with Microsoft Office & Planswift
• Knowledge of ISO quality standards is an advantage
• Interface with co-engineers; secure all the necessary documents, plans and specifications required to assessments of a comprehensive proposal;
• Review, analyze & evaluate proposals submitted by sub-contractors/suppliers;
• Determine / develop construction methodology & standards as they are defined by the bid documents and create construction standards for estimating system;
• Solicits quotation from material & equipment suppliers, review their proposals for accuracy of pricing and compliance to the specifications, plans & requirements of the Client;
• Perform quantity take-off of materials, labor & equipment and prepare estimates in compliance with the bid documents;
• Maintain current knowledge of Philippine & International codes and standards;
• Produce a parameter report based on completed drafts, recap and final bid packages;
• Provide timely re-estimates of re-designed or value engineered projects or bids;
• Implement and overseer compliance of related processes based on the organization’s KTMS.PH Integrated Management System
• Execute all the necessary changes of related processes relevant to KTMS.PH Integrated Management System
• Any task in relation to the designation directed by Supervisor or Top Management.
