Job summary

Kajima Philippines Incorporated is seeking a Quantity Surveyor (M/E) to interface with co-engineers, review proposals from subcontractors and suppliers, and prepare estimates in line with bid documents.

The role requires a Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, a valid PRC license, and at least 2 years' experience in estimation, costing, bidding, and project scheduling. Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Valid PRC license as a Professional Engineer.
  • At least 2 years in estimation, costing, bids, and project scheduling.
  • Experience with bid documentation, pricing and schedules.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and MS Project.
  • Knowledge of Philippine and international codes and ISO standards.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with co-engineers and secure all documents, plans and specifications required to assess proposals.
  • Review, analyze and evaluate proposals submitted by sub-contractors and suppliers.
  • Determine construction methodologies and create standards for estimating system.
  • Solicit quotations from material/equipment suppliers and review pricing against specs.
  • Perform quantity take-off of materials, labor and equipment and prepare estimates.
  • Maintain knowledge of Philippine and international codes and standards.
  • Produce a parameter report based on drafts and final bid packages.
  • Provide re-estimates for redesigned or value-engineered projects.

About the role

Quantity Surveyor (M/E) responsible for interfacing with co-engineers, reviewing and evaluating proposals from sub-contractors and suppliers, determining construction methodology and standards, performing quantity take-off of materials, labor and equipment, and preparing estimates in compliance with bid documents.


Key responsibilities


  • Interface with co-engineers; secure all necessary documents, plans and specifications required to assess a comprehensive proposal

  • Review, analyze and evaluate proposals submitted by sub-contractors/suppliers

  • Determine and develop construction methodology and standards as defined by bid documents and create construction standards for estimating system

  • Solicit quotation from material and equipment suppliers, review their proposals for accuracy of pricing and compliance to specifications, plans and requirements of the Client

  • Perform quantity take-off of materials, labor and equipment and prepare estimates in compliance with bid documents

  • Maintain current knowledge of Philippine and International codes and standards

  • Produce a parameter report based on completed drafts, recap and final bid packages

  • Provide timely re-estimates of re-designed or value engineered projects or bids

  • Implement and oversee compliance of related processes based on the organization's KTMS.PH Integrated Management System

  • Execute all necessary changes of related processes relevant to KTMS.PH Integrated Management System


About you


  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

  • Valid professional license issued by the Professional Regulation Commission

  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in estimation, costing, bids preparation and submission, contract documentations, securing prices from sub-contractors and suppliers, preparation of project schedules

  • Sound working knowledge of and experience with bid documentations, procedures, quantity take off and price estimate

  • Good and effective communication skills both verbal and written

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project

  • Knowledge of relevant Philippine and international codes, standards, construction specifications, applicable laws and regulations, and ISO standards related to construction operations
