Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in structural steel works and QA/QC.
• Experience reading structural/shop drawings and method statements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct QA/QC inspections including material verification, dimensional checks, and weld inspections.

• Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation including reports, test certificates, NCRs, and corrective actions.

• Participate in internal and external audits, inspections, and safety meetings.
• Monitor progress of steel works and report against the project schedule.
• Promote health and safety at the job site.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Engineer with at least 3 years of experience in structural steel works and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of steel construction works, ensuring adherence to project specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of steel structures, QA/QC protocols, and field coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect steel fabrication and erection activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards




• Conduct quality assurance and quality control inspections, including material verification, dimensional checks, and weld inspections




• Review and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, and method statements




• Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and construction teams regarding steel delivery, installation, and testing




• Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation, including inspection reports, material test certificates, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans




• Ensure all works are performed in accordance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., NSCP, AISC, ASTM)




• Assist in resolving technical issues and site-related concerns regarding steel structure installation




• Participate in internal and external audits, inspections, and quality meetings




• Monitor and report progress of steel works in coordination with the project schedule




• Promote and enforce health and safety compliance at the job site

About you
