Job summary

MGEN is seeking a QA/QC Civil Supervisor for Construction Phase 2 to oversee quality assurance and control of civil works for the MTerra Solar Project in Gapan City, Nueva Ecija. The role ensures compliance with drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements, working with EPC contractors, project engineers, and inspectors to deliver quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Civil Engineer preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of QA/QC experience in civil construction projects, including 4–5 years in a supervisory/lead role.
• Proven experience leading QA/QC activities for large-scale construction, infrastructure, energy, or renewable energy projects.
• Experience in solar, power generation, substations, or utility-scale projects is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, inspections, testing requirements, and quality management systems.

Job description

The QA/QC Civil Supervisor for Construction Phase 2 is responsible for overseeing and implementing quality assurance and quality control activities for civil works within the MTerra Solar Project . The role ensures that all construction activities, materials, workmanship, and completed works comply with approved engineering drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

The position works closely with EPC contractors, project engineers, construction teams, and third-party inspectors to ensure that civil works are executed in accordance with established quality requirements while supporting the timely completion and successful delivery of the project.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance and Quality Control

• Supervise and implement QA/QC activities for civil construction works across project sites.
• Ensure compliance with approved plans, technical specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Monitor construction activities and verify that civil works are performed in accordance with established inspection and testing procedures.
• Conduct regular inspections of ongoing and completed works to identify quality issues and ensure compliance with project standards.
• Review and verify inspection and test reports, material certifications, and quality-related documentation.

Inspection and Testing

• Supervise inspection activities for civil works, including earthworks, foundations, concrete works, structural works, roads, drainage systems, and related infrastructure.
• Coordinate with contractors and third-party testing agencies for material testing and quality verification activities.
• Verify that inspection and test plans (ITPs) are properly implemented and documented.
• Ensure all non-conforming works are properly identified, documented, and corrective actions are completed.

Contractor and Site Coordination

• Coordinate with EPC contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and project teams regarding quality-related concerns and compliance requirements.
• Monitor contractor performance related to quality standards and workmanship.
• Participate in site meetings to discuss inspection findings, quality issues, corrective actions, and project progress.
• Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams regarding QA/QC requirements and quality best practices.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain QA/QC records, inspection reports, testing results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), punch lists, and quality documentation.
• Prepare and submit quality reports, inspection summaries, and project quality updates.
• Track corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely resolution of quality issues.
• Support project handover activities and ensure quality documentation is complete and properly archived.

Compliance and Continuous Improvement

• Ensure compliance with company quality management systems, project requirements, and applicable industry standards.
• Support internal and external quality audits and inspections.
• Promote quality awareness and a culture of continuous improvement across construction teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality processes, inspection procedures, and construction practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Civil Engineer is preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant QA/QC experience in civil construction projects , including at least four (4) to five (5) years in a supervisory or lead capacity .
• Proven experience leading QA/QC activities for large-scale construction, infrastructure, industrial, energy, or renewable energy projects.
• Experience in solar, power generation, substation, or utility-scale projects is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of quality control procedures, construction inspections, testing requirements, and quality management systems.
• Familiarity with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), quality audits, and project turnover documentation.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, project specifications, method statements, and technical documents.
• Strong leadership, coordination, analytical, and reporting skills.
• Willing to be assigned on-site in Gapan City, Nueva Ecija under project-based employment for Construction Phase 2 of the MTerra Solar Project .
