NAC Energy Inc. is seeking a Project Based Electrical QAQC Specialist to support the QAQC Supervisor on a Solar Power Plant project in the Philippines. You will monitor electrical works, verify conformance to drawings and standards, and drive closure of non-conformances to prevent rework and delays.
You will work with site teams, review ITPs and test plans, witness testing, and maintain accurate QA/QC records for turnover documentation and client approval.
The Project Based Electrical QAQC Specialist will supports the QAQC Supervisor in monitoring, inspecting, and verifying the quality of the EPC Contractor's electrical works for the assigned Solar Power Plant project. The role ensures that electrical installation, testing, and commissioning activities conform to approved engineering drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards, and helps identify, document, and drive the closure of non-conformances to maintain quality and prevent rework or delays. The Electrical QAQC Engineer works closely with the Project Base Site Manager, Site Engineers, HSE, and other site teams to support safe, quality-compliant construction execution. This is a project-based position, and employment is co-terminus with the assigned project or the expiration of the project-based employment contract.
Conduct daily QA/QC inspections of the EPC Contractor's electrical works (e.g., cable laying and termination, transformer and switchgear installation, inverter and combiner box installation, grounding and lightning protection systems) to verify conformance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Review and verify the EPC Contractor's Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and material submittals for electrical works prior to implementation.
Witness and validate electrical testing and commissioning activities (e.g., insulation resistance/megger testing, continuity testing, cable testing, protection relay testing, Factory and Site Acceptance Tests), ensuring results conform to applicable standards.
Identify, document, and monitor the closure of non-conformances, punch list items, and rework related to electrical installation quality.
Coordinate with the QAQC Supervisor and the EPC Contractor's QA/QC team to resolve technical quality issues and prevent recurrence of defects.
Maintain accurate QA/QC records, inspection reports, and test documentation (e.g., ITP checklists, non-conformance reports, redlines) to support project quality assurance files and turnover documentation.
Support the review of electrical as-built drawings and quality dossiers for accuracy prior to submission for Client approval.
Participate in site quality walkdowns, audits, and coordination meetings with the EPC Contractor and QAQC Supervisor.
Assist in monitoring the EPC Contractor's compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards (e.g., Philippine Electrical Code, IEC, IEEE) and project specifications.
Perform other QA/QC engineering tasks and support as assigned by the QAQC Supervisor to help ensure quality compliance and safe electrical installation.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Licensed Electrical Engineer (PRC) preferred/required
Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in electrical engineering, quality assurance/quality control, or construction; experience in Solar Power Plant or renewable energy construction projects is an advantage
Working knowledge of electrical engineering principles, testing/commissioning methods, and reading/interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.
Familiarity with applicable electrical codes and standards (e.g., Philippine Electrical Code, IEC, IEEE) and QA/QC documentation practices (ITPs, NCRs, checklists).
Working knowledge of HSE regulations and quality standards applicable to construction; exposure to solar power plant construction is an advantage.
