Job summary

Aussie is hiring a Phyton Developer to build end-to-end PHP-based solutions across internal tools, customer-facing sites, and APIs. You will collaborate with stakeholders throughout the SDLC to deliver business value, maintain code quality, and optimize performance in a fast-paced, distributed environment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of PHP experience, strong SQL know-how, RESTful API design, and teamwork skills. Experience with Laravel and CI/CD is a plus, as is exposure to telco platforms.

Responsibilities

• Building end-to-end solutions across a variety of channels (e.g. internal tools and apps, customer-facing websites and apps), utilising industry best practices and leveraging the latest technologies where possible
• Build scalable applications and services using modern PHP development practices and frameworks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle to deliver business value.
• Develop and maintain APIs and integrations that support system interoperability.
• Automate business processes to improve operational efficiency and user experience.
• Contribute to sprint planning, estimation, development, testing and deployment activities.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code aligned with engineering standards.
• Identify and resolve technical, performance and architectural challenges.
• Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering capability.
• Support the ongoing reliability, security and performance of software platforms.
• Maintain effective communication and collaboration across teams and business functions.
• Contribute to special projects and other reasonable duties as required

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commercial experience (5+ years) developing software applications using PHP and modern MVC frameworks.
• Understanding of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
• Experience building and integrating RESTful APIs and web services.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, schema design and query optimisation.
• Experience with modern software development practices, including version control (Git).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a remote or distributed team environment. Highly desirable:
