Job summary

Aussie Broadband is seeking a Network Automation Software Engineer to design and deliver scalable automation. You will build end-to-end APIs, automate processes, and collaborate with stakeholders across the SDLC to solve performance and architecture challenges.

The role emphasizes clean code and adherence to standards, with opportunities to work on special projects in a remote setup supporting global customers. Strong Golang skills and container orchestration experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 5 years of Golang development experience in production-grade apps.
• Experience with containerised solutions and distributed systems.
• Proficient with OpenAPI and OpenTelemetry implementations.
• Familiar with Kubernetes and Helm concepts.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows.
• Experience with Postgres and IAM integration.
• Strong networking knowledge: DNS, DHCP, TACACS, RADIUS.
• Experience with Cisco IOS-XR configuration is a plus.
• Ability to work in a remote, independent environment.

Responsibilities

• Building end-to-end solutions and APIs used across a variety of channels (e.g. internal tools and apps, customer-facing websites and apps), utilising industry best practices and leveraging the latest technologies where possible
• Automating business processes so our staff can focus on the really important stuff
• Working closely with stakeholders, taking part in all stages of the software development life cycle
• Solving interesting performance and architectural challenges
• Writing clean, maintainable code, following best practices and adhering to coding standards
• Working on special projects as directed by the Network Automation Manager
• Communicating and coordinating with internal departments
• Attending all relevant meetings, training or information sessions conducted by Aussie Broadband
• Performing code reviews

Qualifications

• Extensive experience (5 years) in Golang development building production grade applications
• Experience with containerised solutions
• Developing distributed systems and processing
• Practical understanding of the Golang Toolchain
• Utilising external event buses and caches
• Implementing workflow tools
• CI/CD experience

• Working knowledge of OpenAPI and OpenTelemetry implementations
• Visualisation of collected metrics, logs and tracing
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Helm concepts
• Familiarity with Networking concepts, DNS, DHCP, TACACS, RADIUS
• Familiarity with configuring Cisco IOS-XR
• Integration with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions
• Strong communication skills
