Job Description
The Purchasing Officer plays a key role in ensuring the company has the materials and products needed to fulfill lighting supply projects within the right timeframe and budget to meet customer expectations and operational goals. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Purchasing Officer handles supplier relationships, procurement processes, and inventory management. This role is essential for maintaining efficient supply chain operations while upholding our commitment to quality and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure materials, products, and services in alignment with company requirements and standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and delivery timelines.
- Monitor supplier performance, ensuring adherence to quality and service agreements.
- Create and process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Track orders to ensure on‑time delivery and address any issues or delays.
- Coordinate with internal departments to forecast purchasing needs.
- Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to manage stock levels effectively.
- Analyze procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery information.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, standards, and industry regulations.
- Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities, budget utilization, and supplier performance.
- Stay updated on market trends, new suppliers, and product innovations.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education and Experience
3+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles, preferably in a lighting, manufacturing, or related industry.
Skills
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
- Exposure to procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem‑solving capabilities.
Non‑negotiable Skills & Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles, preferably in a lighting, manufacturing, or related industry.
