Job summary

Gentem Consulting in the Philippines is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead and continuously improve the purchasing and procurement function, ensuring quality, price, and timely delivery from optimal suppliers.

You will oversee the full procurement cycle—from requirements receipt to PO issuance, supplier evaluation, and performance management—while enforcing internal controls and compliance, and working onsite in Makati City.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5–8 years of progressive purchasing or procurement experience.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Experience in supplier negotiation, strategic sourcing, and procurement process improvement is highly desirable.
• Willing to work onsite in Makati City.

Responsibilities

• Lead the purchasing and procurement function to ensure right quality, quantity, price, and on-time delivery from the best suppliers.
• Oversee the full procurement cycle: receipt of requirements, sourcing, canvassing, quotation analysis, negotiation, PO issuance, delivery monitoring, and supplier performance evaluation.
• Establish strong internal controls to prevent conflicts of interest, unauthorized purchases, supplier favoritism, overpricing, and duplicate purchases.

Job Summary:

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and continuously improving thepurchasing and procurement function of the company. The position is responsible for ensuring that all purchases of goods, materials, equipment, services, and other requirements are obtained at the right quality, right quantity, right price, from the right supplier, and delivered at the right time, while maintaining transparency, competitiveness, cost efficiency, proper documentation, and compliance with Company policies and approval authorities.

The Purchasing Manager shall oversee the complete procurement cycle—from receipt and validation of purchase requirements, sourcing and supplier accreditation, canvassing and quotation analysis, negotiation, purchase order issuance, delivery monitoring, supplier performance evaluation, and resolution of purchasing-related issues. The role is also expected to establish strong internal controls to prevent conflicts of interest, unauthorized purchases, supplier favoritism, overpricing, duplicate purchases, and other irregularities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Accountancy, Economics, or another related field.
• Professional training or certification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or Contract Management is an advantage.
• At least 5–8 years of progressive purchasing or procurement experience.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity is preferred.
• Experience handling a wide range of purchases, including materials, equipment, services, maintenance requirements, and operational supplies.
• Experience in a multi-company, multi-site, or shared services environment is an advantage.
• Experience in supplier negotiation, strategic sourcing, and purchasing process improvement is highly desirable.
• Must be willing to work onsite in Makati City.
