Job summary

Polystar General Services Inc. is seeking a proactive Property Engineer for the Mall of Asia in Pasay City, Metro Manila. This full-time role focuses on maintenance, operation, and upkeep of a premier shopping and entertainment destination, ensuring safety, compliance, and optimal building performance.

You will perform inspections, manage repairs, coordinate with contractors, and support the property management team while maintaining high standards of service for occupants and visitors.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification or certification in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or building maintenance/facilities management.
• Experience in property or facilities engineering within large commercial/retail properties.
• Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural) and safety regulations in the Philippines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of building systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC).
• Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize disruption.
• Monitor security systems, fire safety equipment, and emergency protocols.
• Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance, repairs, and servicing.
• Coordinate with contractors to ensure timely completion of works.
• Conduct safety audits and ensure compliance with codes and policies.
• Oversee waste management and sustainability initiatives.
• Troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues and perform minor repairs.
• Support property management and communicate maintenance matters to tenants.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Property Engineer to join our team at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in the maintenance, operation, and upkeep of one of the Philippines' premier commercial properties. As Property Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all building systems, infrastructure, and facilities operate optimally, whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance. Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance of all building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs to ensure minimal disruption to operations
• Monitor and maintain building security systems, fire safety equipment, and emergency protocols
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment servicing
• Coordinate with contractors and service providers to ensure timely completion of maintenance and repair work
• Conduct regular safety audits and ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and company policies
• Oversee waste management, environmental systems, and sustainability initiatives within the property
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and perform minor repairs as required
• Support the property management team with operational matters and communicate effectively with tenants regarding maintenance concerns

What we're looking for

• A relevant tertiary qualification or certification in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or building maintenance/facilities management
• Proven experience working as a property engineer, facilities engineer, or in a similar maintenance role within a large commercial or retail property
• Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components
• Proficiency with preventative and corrective maintenance practices and procedures
• Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and compliance standards in the Philippines
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
• Physical capability to perform hands‑on maintenance work and climb ladders or work at heights safely
• A valid driver's licence is advantageous
• Certification in fire safety, electrical safety, or confined space entry would be highly valued
