Polystar General Services Inc. is seeking a dedicated Building Engineer to manage the Bonifacio Stop Over Corp. Center in Makati City, Metro Manila.

This full-time role focuses on the operation and supervision of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure safety and efficiency. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, at least 2 years of relevant experience, and familiarity with BMS/CMMS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years in building maintenance or facilities management.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems in commercial buildings.
• Skilled in reading technical drawings, blueprints, and specs.
• Valid Professional Electrical Technician License or Building/Fire Safety License (or willingness to obtain).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; able to work independently or in a team.
• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and CMMS is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain building MEP and HVAC systems for optimal performance and safety.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to minimise downtime.

About the role

Polystar General Services Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Building Engineer to join our team at the Bonifacio Stop Over Corp. Center in Makati City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and optimal operation of all building systems and facilities. As Building Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, supervision, and technical management of the building's mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. This position is essential to maintaining our high standards of facility management and ensuring the comfort and safety of all building occupants.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain all building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on all building equipment and systems to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency calls, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues efficiently
• Supervise and coordinate with maintenance staff and external contractors to ensure all work is completed to specification
• Monitor building utilities consumption and implement energy efficiency measures to reduce operational costs
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, equipment repairs, and system performance data
• Ensure compliance with all building codes, regulations, and safety standards relevant to building systems and operations
• Coordinate with building management and tenants to address facility-related concerns and ensure service continuity
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for system upgrades or replacements when necessary

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent technical qualification and experience
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in building maintenance, building systems engineering, or facilities management
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems commonly found in commercial buildings
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and building specifications
• Valid Professional Electrical Technician License or Building/Fire Safety License (or willingness to obtain these qualifications)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with building staff and tenants
• Proven track record in ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations
• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and computerised maintenance management systems is highly desirable
• Physical capability to perform hands-on maintenance work and climb ladders or access equipment in various building locations
