Job Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing store development projects from
site assessment to store opening, ensuring that all construction, operational, and regulatory
requirements are met. This role oversees the Project Officers and contractors, coordinates with
landlords and stakeholders, and ensures project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are
adhered to. The Project Manager plays a crucial role in executing expansion plans and
optimizing project workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Management
- Oversee the end-to-end execution of store opening and renovation projects (Company-owned and Franchise), ensuring timely completion within budget.
- Develop project timelines, milestones, and task allocations for Project Officers.
- Lead pre-bid preparations, ensuring accuracy of plans and documents before contractor selection.
- Coordinates with Procurement team on bidding process, developing a comprehensive Bid Summary based on the documents provided by the Procurement team
- Track project costs, budgets, and contracts, identifying and mitigating financial risks.
- Identify potential project risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure smooth execution.
- Coordinates with RBU Head or equivalent on any movement or issues related to Store Opening/ Store Renovation
2. Site Assessment & Pre-Construction Coordination
- Conduct and review site visits for approved locations, ensuring availability of utilities and access points.
- Facilitate discussions with landlords and lessors to ensure compliance with construction and store opening guidelines.
- Oversee the processing of permits and regulatory requirements before construction begins.
- Review site challenges and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
3. Construction & Project Execution
- Supervise Project Officers, Project Coordinators, and contractors to ensure that store construction and setup adhere to standards.
- Ensure notated plans are properly implemented and executed on-site.
- Prepares Scope of work, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and quantity surveys to ensure project accuracy.
- Oversee quality assurance and corrective actions to maintain high construction standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
4. Stakeholder Communication & Coordination
- Act as the main point of contact for all project-related concerns, including landlords, contractors, and internal teams.
- Lead coordination with Operations, Factory, Procurement, Store Network Development, Marketing, and other departments to ensure a seamless store transition.
- Prepare and present progress reports, project updates, and recommendations to senior management.
- Ensure alignment between business objectives and store expansion timelines.
5. Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all projects comply with company standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive project information and manage internal records securely.
- Implement corrective actions to enhance compliance effectiveness and prevent recurring issues.
- Conduct post-project reviews to identify areas for improvement in project execution.
6. Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to Project Officers, ensuring effective task execution.
- Conduct training and development sessions to enhance team skills and efficiency.
- Monitor individual and team performance, ensuring KPIs and project targets are met.
- Foster a collaborative and proactive work environment within the Project Management Group.
