Job summary

Archipelago Builders Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee on-site construction tasks in General Trias, Cavite. You will review plans, prepare shop drawings, and manage procurement schedules while coordinating with the team to ensure timely completion of activities.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree with 1–2 years of relevant experience, strong analytical and presentation skills, and a willingness to relocate within Cavite. Immediate availability is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews plans and specifications to resolve conflicts via RFIs/RFAs.

• Supervises site work and deploys manpower to meet daily targets.
• Updates daily monitoring and submits weekly reports to Head Office and client.

Job description

The Project Engineer is the overall in-charge of tasks below:

• Reviews plans and specifications to resolve possible conflicts in advance through Request Form for Information (RFI) and Request Form for Approval (RFA).

• Determines variation between bid plans and construction drawings and informs the immediate head for claiming a Variation Order to the clients.

• Prepares shop drawings for submission to consultants before purchasing and execution at site.

• Prepares quantity take-off upon awarding of project.

• Prepares material look-ahead schedule to be updated on a monthly basis (3 months look-ahead).

• Prepares detailed procurement schedule.

• Attends and facilitates toolbox meeting.

• Deploys and orients manpower assigned for their daily targets and schedules.

• Supervises overall work at site.

• Updates monitoring on a daily basis, particularly manpower, daily consumption, stock inventory, and issues encountered.

• Prepares Weekly Report to be submitted to AB Corporation Head Office and Client.

• Prepares Inspection Work Request (IWR) two days before commencement of activity.

• Maintains daily logbook using the provided format (Daily manpower monitoring, daily consumption monitoring, issues, and concerns)

• Evaluates subcontractor's billing to be submitted to the Quantity Surveyor within the agreed deadline.

• Preparation of three months look ahead schedule

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; Professional License is a plus;

• With 1- 2 years of relevant working experience in the related field is required for this position;

• With strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills as well as an eye for detail;

• Results-oriented, team player with strong interpersonal skills;

• Willing to be assigned/relocate within General Trias, Cavite Area;

• Amenable to commute/relocate, living near or within Cavite (Zeal Residences);

Archipelago Builders Corporation

The company was established in 1965, engaging in General Building Construction under the name Archipelago Builders. The office started by renting a room in a building at Rizal Avenue, Sta. Cruz, Manila, and the Warehouse / Steel Shop were located at Old Samson Road, Balintawak, Quezon City.

Started as a Building Contractor-Category “C” by the Professional Regulations Commission, it was later recognized as a General Building Contractor-Class “B”. In the year 1975‑1976, the company doubled its personnel, rented another three (3) rooms in the same building, and added another three (3) compartment warehouses and a steel shop for its expanded operations for both public and private sectors. In 1977, the company was recognized as a General Engineering and General Building-Category “A”, engaged in both horizontal and vertical construction.

In 1979, Archipelago Builders started construction of its own three and a one half (3 -1/2) storey building at No.29 North Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City, to house its main office and diversified businesses like the restaurant, construction supply, and real estate.

In 1987, as the company continued to grow, the category “A” was further upgraded to Category ’AA’

In 1998, the year of economic crisis, inflation, and political strife in the country, fortunately, Archipelago Builders was awarded several projects in Metro Manila, Southern Luzon, and Visayas. Because of this, Archipelago Builders was finally upgraded to Category ‘AAA’.

Today, after many years of construction experience, Archipelago Builders aims to further develop the quality of construction and help build the future for this country. This is our vision and mission.
