Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies that support hydropower operations, maintenance activities, and capital projects.
• Lead the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, bidding, evaluation, negotiation, contract award, and supplier performance management.
• Manage procurement activities for EPC projects, ensuring alignment with schedules, budgets, and technical specs.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management, operations, and finance to identify procurement requirements and priorities.
• Oversee procurement of major hydropower equipment, electromechanical systems, civil works, spare parts, and services.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to meet project milestones and maintenance schedules.
• Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, warranties, and service agreements with suppliers.
• Manage supplier qualification, evaluation, and performance monitoring programs.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with local and international suppliers.
• Monitor procurement budgets, cost savings initiatives, and expenditure reports.

About the role

Responsible for leading the procurement and supply chain functions of the company, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, equipment, and services required for hydropower operations, maintenance, and EPC projects. The role oversees procurement strategy, contract management, vendor relationships, inventory optimization, and regulatory compliance while supporting the successful execution of hydropower and renewable energy projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies that support hydropower operations, maintenance activities, and capital projects.

• Lead the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, bidding, evaluation, negotiation, contract award, and supplier performance management.

• Manage procurement activities for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects, ensuring alignment with project schedules, budgets, and technical specifications.

• Coordinate closely with engineering, project management, operations, and finance teams to identify procurement requirements and delivery priorities.

• Oversee the procurement of major hydropower equipment, electromechanical systems, civil works packages, spare parts, and operational services.

• Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to support project milestones, plant maintenance schedules, and operational requirements.

• Negotiate favorable commercial terms, pricing, warranties, and service agreements with suppliers and contractors.

• Manage supplier qualification, evaluation, and performance monitoring programs to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance.

• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with local and international suppliers, contractors, and service providers.

• Monitor procurement budgets, cost savings initiatives, and expenditure reports to achieve commercial objectives.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management.

• At least 5 years in a managerial role.

• Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, procurement planning, and contract administration.

• Experience with EPC procurement, project supply chain management, and vendor management.

• Strong commercial, negotiation, and analytical skills.

• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple procurement packages and suppliers in a fast-paced project environment.

• Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is preferred.

• Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), CIPS, or equivalent certification is an advantage.
