About the role
Oversees the company's accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, taxation, and regulatory compliance functions. The role supports hydropower operations and infrastructure projects by ensuring financial integrity, providing strategic financial insights to Management and the Board, and maintaining compliance with statutory and industry requirements. The position works closely with operations, project teams, auditors, regulators, and financial institutions to support business performance and growth.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting records, financial controls, and reporting systems for hydropower operations and projects.
- Lead the monthly closing process, account reviews, and preparation of financial statements and disclosures.
- Monitor operating costs, capital expenditures (CAPEX), maintenance expenses, and project expenditures to ensure financial efficiency and profitability.
- Oversee the financial management and accounting of hydropower construction, rehabilitation, and expansion projects, including project cost monitoring and capitalization.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, management reports, financial highlights, and variance analyses against budgets and prior-year performance.
- Lead the consolidation of financial statements and performance reporting for all related entities, where applicable.
- Manage cash flow, treasury operations, debt servicing, financing activities, and funding requirements for ongoing operations and capital projects.
- Prepare and submit quarterly and annual regulatory and statutory reports to agencies such as the SEC, DOE, BIR, and financial institutions, ensuring full compliance.
- Monitor compliance with tax requirements, loan covenants, power purchase agreements (PPAs), concession agreements, and other contractual obligations.
- Participate in Board of Directors (BOD) and Board Committee meetings by providing financial analysis, strategic recommendations, and business insights.
About you
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Accounting & Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or financial management.
- At least 3-5 years in a senior finance leadership role.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Experience in the renewable energy, hydropower, infrastructure, utilities, power generation, or construction sectors is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in budgeting, financial reporting, treasury management, project finance, and regulatory compliance for capital-intensive operations.
- Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Energy Economics, or a related discipline.
- Training and experience in Project Accounting, Infrastructure Finance, Taxation, Treasury Management, Financial Controlling, or Renewable Energy Finance.
- Knowledge of power generation economics, energy sector regulations, and project financing structures is highly desirable.
- Additional certifications such as CMA, ACCA, CFA, FMVA, or equivalent are an advantage.
