Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience as a Prior Authorization Coordinator or in a similar healthcare role
- Proficiency in Epic EMR, with experience using CoverMyMeds and/or NaviNet considered an advantage
- Strong knowledge of medical insurance plans, prior authorization requirements, and approval workflows
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Typing speed of at least 55 words per minute
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple authorization requests, deadlines, and competing priorities simultaneously

Responsibilities
- Submit and manage prior authorization requests for medications, procedures, imaging, and specialty services.
- Communicate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, pharmacies, and patients regarding authorization statuses.
- Process authorization requests through online platforms such as CoverMyMeds and NaviNet, when applicable.
- Gather, verify, and submit the clinical documentation required to secure authorization approvals.
- Track pending authorizations and conduct timely follow-ups to ensure prompt processing.
- Document all authorization activities accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Respond professionally and courteously to patient inquiries regarding authorization requests.
- Coordinate with clinical teams to ensure complete documentation and efficient approval workflows.
