Job summary

Universal Robina Corporation (URSUMCO) is seeking a Preventive Maintenance Inspector, Mechanical, to safeguard electrical systems in the sugar manufacturing plant. You will perform routine inspections, implement PM schedules, diagnose issues, and document findings.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with at least 2 years in industrial electrical maintenance, preferably in sugar manufacturing. Strong safety culture and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Licensure and additional certifications in electrical maintenance or inspection are advantageous.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in an industrial setting such as manufacturing, with preventive maintenance experience.
• Experience in sugar manufacturing or similar heavy industrial environments is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Routine Inspections: Perform regular inspections of electrical systems and equipment to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Execute Preventive Maintenance Tasks: Implement preventive maintenance schedules for electrical equipment to minimize downtime and prevent breakdowns.
• Troubleshoot Electrical Problems: Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems, using testing equipment to identify root causes and solutions.
• Maintain Documentation: Keep accurate records of inspection findings, maintenance activities, and equipment performance.
• Recommend Improvements: Identify opportunities for efficiency and reliability improvements in electrical systems.
• Coordinate with Maintenance and Production Teams: Work with technicians and supervisors to schedule activities and minimize disruption.
• Ensure Compliance: Adhere to codes, standards, and regulations governing electrical systems and implement corrective actions.
• Safety Management: Promote a culture of safety and mitigate hazards.
• Training and Development: Stay updated and train junior staff as needed.

What are the Roles and Responsibilities?

The Preventive Maintenance Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and safety of electrical systems and equipment within the sugar manufacturing Plant. Responsible for conducting routine inspections, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and troubleshooting electrical issues, the Inspector helps minimize downtime, prevent breakdowns, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. With a blend of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, the Inspector collaborates with maintenance teams to optimize equipment performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support the overall efficiency of operations.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Conduct Routine Inspections: Perform regular inspections of electrical systems and equipment to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

2. Execute Preventive Maintenance Tasks: Implement preventive maintenance schedules for electrical equipment to minimize downtime and prevent breakdowns.

3. Troubleshoot Electrical Problems: Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems, utilizing testing equipment and technical knowledge to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

4. Maintain Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspection findings, maintenance activities, and equipment performance to track trends and support decision-making.

5. Recommend Improvements: Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency and reliability of electrical systems through upgrades, modifications, or changes to maintenance practices.

6. Coordinate with Maintenance and Production Teams: Collaborate with maintenance technicians, shift supervisors, production supervisors and other relevant personnel to schedule maintenance activities, coordinate repairs, and ensure minimal disruption to operations.

7. Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing electrical systems and equipment, and implement corrective actions as necessary.

8. Safety Management: Adhere to safety protocols and practices at all times, promoting a culture of safety within the organization and taking proactive measures to mitigate hazards.

9. Training and Development: Stay updated on advancements in electrical technology and maintenance practices, and provide training and guidance to junior staff as needed.

10. Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of preventive maintenance programs and overall operations.

What are the Qualifications?

   • Ability to analyze data and identify trends to optimize preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.

   • Familiarity with safety protocols and practices related to electrical work.

4. Interpersonal Skills:

   • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders.

   • Strong attention to detail and the ability to document inspection findings accurately.

   • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.

   • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.

   • Adaptability to work in a dynamic environment and respond effectively to changing priorities.
