Job summary

Dyson is seeking a Power Electronics Engineer in the Philippines to drive innovation within the Electronics Hardware Design Engineering team. The role focuses on the Power Architecture for Dyson Appliance products, with opportunities to work on power conversions, battery management, and motor drives.

You will specify, design, and test power electronic circuits, collaborate with teams across the UK and Southeast Asia, and produce detailed engineering documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in electronics engineering or a comparable discipline.
• More than 2 years of working experience in the electronic design industry or a similar environment.
• Knowledge of Power Electronics: SMPS, motor drive, inverters, battery management, and related products.
• Experience using simulation tools (LTSpice, Simetrix, Ansys, Flotherm, etc.) to support design calculations and validation.
• Experience in schematic design and PCB layout (Mentor Graphics, Altium).
• Familiarity with safety/regulatory requirements including EMC.

Responsibilities

• Specify, design, and test power electronic circuits for consumer/home appliances.
• Collaborate with global project teams to define and deliver next-gen hardware for power conversions and motor drives.
• Create design docs, test methods, validation plans, and analysis reports.
• Verify designs via simulation and testing; follow full product development lifecycle.
• Ensure designs meet specs, reliability, DFM, cost, and regulatory standards (IEC/UL/EMC).
• Coordinate with ODM/JDM partners to ensure timely, reliable power electronics solutions.
• Produce detailed engineering materials including schematics, PCB layouts, tolerance analyses, FMEA, and reviews.
• Maintain thorough documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
