Responsible for ensuring the company’s compliance with environmental, occupational health and safety, facility, and regulatory requirements. Oversees pollution control programs, workplace safety, facility compliance, permits, inspections, and audits. Conducts risk assessments, safety inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action monitoring. Serves as the company’s liaison with government agencies and regulatory bodies, including DENR, PEZA, BFP, DOLE, and LGU.
Implement, monitor, and maintain environmental programs in compliance with DENR, PEZA, LGU, and other applicable regulations.
Prepare, maintain, and submit required environmental reports and documents, including SMR, CMR, CEMS, PCO reports, and other regulatory submissions.
Monitor proper waste segregation, storage, treatment, transportation, and disposal in accordance with environmental requirements.
Coordinate with accredited waste haulers, treatment facilities, laboratories, and other environmental service providers.
Oversee the proper operation and monitoring of wastewater treatment facilities and air pollution control systems.
Maintain environmental records, permits, manifests, monitoring results, and supporting documentation.
Identify environmental risks and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
Implement and enforce workplace Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) policies and programs in accordance with DOLE requirements and applicable OSH standards.
Conduct regular workplace safety inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments (HIRA) across production, warehouse, tooling, maintenance, offices, and other areas.
Ensure appropriate control measures are implemented for identified hazards and monitor their effectiveness.
Monitor proper use of PPE, machine safety devices, emergency equipment, signage, and other safety controls.
Conduct safety orientations, toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and required OSH training.
Lead and coordinate fire drills, earthquake drills, emergency response exercises, and other safety drills.
Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor implementation and closure of incident corrective actions and safety improvement plans.
Maintain required safety records, inspection reports, training records, accident reports, and other OSH documentation.
Plan, coordinate, and participate in internal EHS, environmental, safety, and facility compliance audits.
Support and coordinate customer, PEZA, DENR, DOLE, BFP, LGU, and third-party audits and inspections.
Prepare required documents, records, permits, reports, and evidence prior to audits and regulatory inspections.
Conduct regular compliance gap assessments and identify potential findings before external audits.
Prepare and monitor Corrective Action Plans (CAP) resulting from audits, inspections, and assessments.
Coordinate with concerned departments to ensure timely implementation and closure of corrective actions.
Maintain an organized audit findings and corrective action tracking system and report status to management.
Monitor recurring findings and recommend preventive measures to avoid repeated non-conformities.
Conduct and update risk assessments, hazard assessments, and environmental aspect/impact assessments as required.
Identify operational, environmental, safety, and facility-related risks and recommend appropriate controls.
Monitor compliance with established EHS procedures, work instructions, and control measures.
Review workplace conditions and processes for potential safety, environmental, and regulatory risks.
Assist departments in developing and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Maintain a compliance calendar and ensure timely completion and renewal of permits, reports, inspections, and regulatory requirements.
Monitor the condition, safety, and regulatory compliance of plant buildings, utilities, fire protection systems, emergency equipment, and other facility-related systems.
Coordinate required inspections, testing, maintenance, and certifications of safety and facility equipment.
Handle applications, renewals, amendments, and updates of permits and certificates, including:
Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC)
PEZA environmental permits and requirements
Fire Safety Inspection Certificate (FSIC)
DOLE OSH requirements and reports
LGU permits and clearances
Other environmental, safety, and facility-related permits and certifications
Coordinate with contractors and service providers for facility maintenance, safety systems, environmental systems, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure proper documentation and records are maintained for all facility and compliance activities.
Act as the company’s designated liaison with DENR, PEZA, BFP, DOLE, LGU, and other regulatory agencies for EHS and facility-related matters.
Coordinate government inspections, assessments, permit applications, renewals, and regulatory submissions.
Monitor regulatory updates and communicate applicable requirements to management and concerned departments.
Ensure timely response to regulatory notices, findings, and compliance requirements.
Develop and conduct EHS-related training and awareness programs.
Conduct employee orientations on emergency procedures, PPE, waste management, chemical safety, machine safety, fire prevention, and other workplace hazards.
Promote a strong safety culture through regular communication, inspections, toolbox meetings, and safety campaigns.
Maintain training attendance, competency, and certification records.
Maintain accurate and updated EHS, environmental, facility, permit, audit, and regulatory records.
Prepare periodic EHS and compliance reports for management review.
Track compliance deadlines, audit findings, incidents, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
Ensure documents are properly organized and readily available for audits and inspections.
Provide management with recommendations on compliance risks, safety improvements, and required actions.
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
Must have BOSH / SO2 certification.
Preferably with PCO accreditation/certification or relevant environmental compliance experience.
At least 2–3 years of EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing, plastic injection, or industrial environment.
Knowledge of Philippine environmental and occupational safety regulations, including:
RA 11058 – Occupational Safety and Health Standards
RA 8749 – Philippine Clean Air Act
RA 9003 – Ecological Solid Waste Management Act
RA 9275 – Philippine Clean Water Act
Applicable DENR, PEZA, DOLE, BFP, and LGU requirements
Experience in internal and external audits, risk assessments, incident investigation, and corrective action management.
Knowledge of environmental monitoring, waste management, wastewater treatment, and air pollution control systems.
Strong organizational, documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
Able to manage multiple compliance requirements, deadlines, audits, and regulatory activities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and compliance documentation.
Willing to conduct regular plant inspections and work closely with different departments.
Strong attention to detail, proactive approach, and ability to identify and address compliance and safety risks.
