Job summary

Dempsey Resource Management Inc. seeks an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead compliance, training, and continuous improvement across operations.

This role focuses on developing safety culture, managing risk, and driving regulatory adherence in a manufacturing setting. You will oversee hazard analysis, incident investigations, and performance reporting while coordinating audits and contractor EHS compliance.

Qualifications

  • Education: College Graduate required.
  • Experience: 3–5 years in an EHS role with at least 1–2 years in managerial capacity.
  • Certifications: NEBOSH, CSP, ISO 14001/45001, First Aid/HAZMAT/Fire Safety training are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure company follows all local and international EHS laws and permits (DENR, OSHA, ISO 14001/45001).
  • Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and job safety analyses.
  • Investigate accidents and near-misses; implement root-cause corrective actions.
  • Develop, update, and communicate EHS policies, procedures, and emergency plans.
  • Track KPIs (injuries, waste, emissions) and lead ISO implementations and internal audits.
  • Liaise with HR, Operations, Engineering, and external auditors.

*1. Compliance & Legal*
  • Ensure company follows all local and international EHS laws: DENR, DOLE, OSHA, ISO 14001/45001
  • Handle permits: ECC, PCO accreditation, Hazardous Waste Generator ID, wastewater/air permits
  • Prepare reports for government agencies and corporate HQ
  • Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and job safety analysis
  • Investigate accidents, near-misses, and environmental incidents. Do root cause + corrective actions
  • Inspect facilities, PPE, machinery, chemical storage, waste handling
  • Develop and update EHS policies, procedures, and emergency response plans
*3. Training & Culture*
  • Run EHS orientations, toolbox talks, drills for fire, earthquake, chemical spill
  • Train supervisors and employees on safe work practices
  • Build safety culture so EHS isn't just the EHS guy's job
  • Manage contractors' EHS compliance on site
*4. Monitoring & Improvement*
  • Track EHS KPIs and report to management: injuries, waste reduction, energy use, audit findings
  • Lead ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 implementation + internal audits
  • Manage waste reduction, emissions control, water conservation programs
  • Budget for PPE, safety equipment, and improvement projects
  • Liaise with HR, Operations, Engineering, and external auditors
