Job summary

Far East Advance Plastics Corporation is seeking a PCO & Safety Officer III to oversee and manage the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety programs in compliance with DOLE OSH and DENR-EMB regulations. You will serve as the primary technical advisor to management on hazard mitigation, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's OSH Program in coordination with the OSH Committee
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Determining Controls (HIRADC), and industrial hygiene monitoring
• Issue Work Stoppage Orders (WSO) or suspend operations when an imminent danger is identified
• Lead investigations for workplace accidents, near-misses, and dangerous occurrences; perform root-cause analyses and track corrective/preventive actions
• Facilitate mandatory OSH orientations for new hires, contractors, and visitors; conduct/facilitate Safety toolbox meetings and safety drills
• Assist DOLE labor inspectors during spot audits and health/safety inspections
• Ensure appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is selected, inspected, and distributed to all exposed workers
• Identify significant environmental aspects and impacts of operational activities; maintain the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and Contingency Plan
• Ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of pollution source and control facilities, including Wastewater Treatment Facilities (WWTF), Air Pollution Control Devices (APCD), Materials Recovery Facilities (MRF) and Solid Waste Segregation, and Hazardous Waste Storage Areas
• Secure, track, and renew all EMB permits—such as the Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC), Permit to Operate (PTO) air sources, Discharge Permit (DP), and Hazardous Waste Generator ID

About the role

The PCO & Safety Officer III is responsible for overseeing, implementing, and managing the organization's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs. This dual role ensures that workplace operations comply with Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards and Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) regulations. The officer acts as the primary technical advisor to the Managing Head/Management on hazard mitigation, pollution prevention, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
