Job summary

ING is seeking an experienced Operations Engineer for the Java Platform within the Accounts & Cash Management Domain. You will own platform availability, drive observability, and lead lifecycle and migration activities across global teams.

This role focuses on automation, incident management, and regulatory compliance, working in a multidisciplinary Agile environment to deliver secure, scalable financial services.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in Operations/Platform Engineering or DevOps environments.
• Hands-on with Azure DevOps including Pipelines and Repos.
• Expertise in OpenShift and Kubernetes administration.
• Experience with Linux, scripting, and automation.
• Strong observability skills using Grafana/Prometheus/OpenTelemetry.

Responsibilities

• Own platform availability, reliability, performance, and operational stability.
• Lead application lifecycle management, infra upgrades, and platform migrations.
• Drive risk remediation, security initiatives, and regulatory compliance activities.
• Manage major incidents and coordinate service restoration efforts.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
• Enhance observability via monitoring, dashboards, and runbooks.
• Automate operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Collaborate with engineering and security teams to deliver resilient solutions.
• Support IT Operations processes including Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management.
