Job summary

HDEC-DONGAH JOINT VENTURE is seeking a Planning Engineer to lead construction project scheduling, progress tracking, and planning across industrial, infrastructure, oil & gas, and large-scale projects in the Philippines.

You will develop detailed schedules, conduct critical path analysis, and coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure baseline adherence and timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as Construction Planner or Scheduler on industrial projects.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 for scheduling and reporting.
• Ability to read construction drawings and engineering docs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/update project schedules, histograms, S-curves, and progress reports.
• Perform critical path analysis and resource loading.
• Review drawings using AutoCAD and interpret engineering docs.
• Coordinate with EPC, procurement, construction, and PM teams.
• Develop WBS and baseline schedules; monitor progress vs baselines.
• Identify risks, delays, and mitigation measures; support recovery plans.

About the role

A Planning Engineer role focused on construction project scheduling, progress monitoring, and planning on industrial, infrastructure, oil & gas, petrochemical, power plant, or similar construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and update project schedules, manpower histograms, S-curves, look-ahead schedules, and weekly/monthly progress reports
• Perform critical path analysis, resource loading, and schedule reporting using Primavera P6
• Review and interpret construction drawings and engineering documents using AutoCAD
• Develop work breakdown structures (WBS) and baseline schedules
• Monitor project progress and measure progress against baseline schedules
• Identify schedule risks, delays, and potential mitigation measures
• Develop schedule recovery planning when needed
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and project management teams

About you

• Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler on industrial, infrastructure, oil & gas, petrochemical, power plant, or similar construction projects
• Proficient in Primavera P6 for project scheduling, progress monitoring, critical path analysis, resource loading, and schedule reporting
• Proficient in AutoCAD and capable of reviewing and interpreting construction drawings and engineering documents
• Strong understanding of project planning and scheduling principles, including WBS development, baseline schedule preparation, progress measurement, and schedule recovery planning
• Good understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and project execution processes
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
• Experience working on EPC, industrial plant, energy, or large-scale construction projects (preferred)
• Familiarity with earned value management (EVM) and project performance analysis (preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
