GrowthAssistant is hiring a Performance Tracking & Tag Management Specialist for a fully remote role serving B2B software clients. You will own Google Tag Manager implementation, QA, and conversion-tracking audits across multiple platforms, while auditing scripts and documenting findings.

You will collaborate with the Head of Growth and Marketing Manager to align events with client objectives and perform regular site performance assessments with the client development team.

The Opportunity

We're hiring a Performance Tracking & Tag Management Specialist for a digital marketing agency serving B2B software clients — owning Google Tag Manager implementation and QA, conversion-tracking audits, and site-performance assessments across client websites.

What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like

• Tag Management: Implement, QA, and maintain tags, triggers, and pixels in Google Tag Manager (GTM) across client websites.
• Conversion Tracking Audits: Audit and troubleshoot conversion tracking configurations across platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, Bing Ads).
• Conversion Validation: Validate conversion actions to ensure form fills, purchases, or other lead events are correctly recorded — not inflated by clicks or views.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Partner with the Head of Growth and Marketing Manager to make sure recommended conversion events align with client objectives.
• Script Auditing: Pull all existing GTM and marketing scripts within the tag of the website, documenting the script, company/tool name, when it fires, and a recommendation on whether to keep or remove it.
• Site Performance Assessments: Perform regular site performance/web speed assessments in collaboration with the client's development team, sharing documentation that outlines mobile vs. desktop and core KPIs (LCP, blocking time, etc.) with recommendations for improvement.

What You Bring

• Agency Background: Experience working in digital marketing or web design/development agencies.
• B2B Software Client Experience: Experience with B2B software clients (Series A–D).
• GTM Expertise: 5+ years of experience managing Google Tag Manager (tag creation, testing, triggers, version control) as well as coordinated GA4 Key Events creation and event reporting via Explore Reports or the Google API.
• Conversion Tracking Knowledge: Solid understanding of conversion tracking across Google Ads, Meta Ads, and other paid media platforms.
• QA Rigor: Strong ability to QA tracking and identify discrepancies between actual and reported performance data across Google, CRM (HubSpot, Pardot), and paid media platforms (mostly Google Ads).
• Documentation: Demonstrated experience creating or maintaining documentation (SOPs, QA templates, checklists).
• Communication: Excellent communication skills to partner with account managers, strategists, and technical teams.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Prior experience collaborating with web developers or marketing analysts on data validation and tag troubleshooting.

Bonus Points if:

• You have experience with Webflow.
• You have familiarity with CRM systems for marketing data management, specifically HubSpot and Salesforce.
• You have an understanding of enhanced conversions, consent mode, and privacy-related tagging.
