Job summary

Overjet seeks a seasoned People Operations professional to own payroll, onboarding, and HRIS stewardship from our San Mateo office. You’ll implement end-to-end processes, leverage AI tools, and partner with the Director of People & Performance to scale operations for a high-growth company.

The role requires multi-state payroll experience, Rippling mastery, benefits administration, and a systems-thinking mindset.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years in People Ops or HR Generalist, preferably at a startup or high-growth company.
• Proven Rippling ownership: built workflows, configured modules, ran payroll, kept data clean.
• Multi-state payroll experience; international EoR familiarity preferred.
• Active AI tool user (Claude) to drive real work.
• Benefits administration experience; open enrollment and broker management.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities.
• Discretion with sensitive data and employee relations.
• Clear, direct communicator.

Responsibilities

• Systems & Payroll: own Rippling configurations, workflows, and data integrity.
• Run multi-state US payroll accurately and on time.
• Manage EoR coordination and onboarding for PK/EGY.
• Administer benefits programs: open enrollment, carrier relationships.
• Maintain HRIS data hygiene and audit readiness.
• Own onboarding and offboarding end-to-end.
• Maintain and update the employee handbook and HR policies.
• Serve as first response for employee HR questions; automate responses.
• Office operations: San Mateo office two days per week; snack provisioning.
