The Role: Payroll Supervisor - BPO
Job Summary
The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payroll administration while maintaining compliance with all government regulations and company policies. This role supervises payroll operations, manages statutory remittances and reporting, coordinates with cross-functional teams, and supports payroll audits, reconciliations, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and oversee payroll processing activities to ensure timely and accurate salary disbursement for all employees.
- Review and validate payroll data, including attendance records, timesheets, leave transactions, overtime, incentives, and deductions.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory payroll requirements, including SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and BIR regulations.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of government remittances, reports, and mandatory filings.
- Review and approve final pay computations, tax adjustments, and separation-related payroll requirements.
- Manage employee payroll records and maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information.
- Coordinate closely with Workforce Management, Operations, Human Resources, Finance, and other departments to ensure payroll accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor payroll controls and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Support annual tax activities, including tax annualization, alpha list preparation, and year-end reporting.
- Lead payroll audits, reconciliations, and compliance reviews, ensuring complete and accurate documentation.
- Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of payroll systems and processes.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to payroll team members.
- Generate payroll reports, analytics, and management updates as required.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience in payroll administration, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine labor laws, payroll regulations, taxation, and mandatory government contributions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and BIR).
- Experience managing high-volume payroll processing in a BPO, shared services, or corporate environment is highly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Effective communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines.
