Job summary

Philippine Red Cross is seeking a Paralegal to provide essential legal and administrative support to the Legal Department. The role involves preparing, formatting, and processing legal documents; organizing files; coordinating with internal departments; and supporting daily office operations.

Key duties include drafting MOA and contracts, legal research support, and maintaining orderly records. The incumbent will help ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across legal workflows and case

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Bachelor of Laws, Legal Management, Political Science, or other legal or pre-law courses.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a paralegal, legal assistant, or compliance role.
  • Preferably with exposure to non-profit, humanitarian, or development work.
  • Experience in legal drafting, formatting and legal procedures, supporting litigation or administrative cases.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and review MOA, contracts, and other legal documents.
  • Encode and track document revisions and approvals; ensure proper template usage.
  • Process notarization and route documents for signature; manage printing, scanning, and uploading of files.
  • Organize and maintain physical and digital legal records; manage case files and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with Legal Assistants and departments on deadlines and submission status; liaise with other departments.

Job description

The Paralegal provides essential legal and administrative support to the Legal Department by assisting in the preparation, formatting, and processing of legal documents; organizing files; coordinating with internal departments; and supporting the day-to-day operations of the office. The Paralegal ensures accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in delivering legal assistance and plays a key role in facilitating workflow between the Legal Team and other units.

A. Legal Documentation Preparation and Management
  • Draft and review MOA, contracts, and other legal documents.
  • Encode and track document revisions and approvals.
  • Ensure legal templates are properly used and updated as instructed.
  • Process notarization and route documents for appropriate signature.
  • Handle printing, scanning, and uploading of legal files.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely organization of all legal documents, including drafting, editing, and filing.
B. Legal Research Support
  • Conduct thorough and accurate legal research, summarize findings, and provide relevant information to attorneys.
C. File Management and Legal Organization

Organize and maintain physical and digital legal records.

  • Manage case files, track deadlines, prepare for hearings and trials, and maintain communication with lawyers and persons involved.
  • Label, log, and archive finalized legal documents in an orderly and secure system.
  • Retrieve requested legal documents in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor document control protocols and retention schedules.
  • Assist in updating legal databases and trackers for contracts and case files.
D. Coordination and Inter-Departmental Support
  • Liaise with other departments to follow up on legal requirements or document routing.
  • Coordinate with Legal Assistants and departments on deadlines and submission status.
  • Respond to internal requests for document copies, updates, or clarifications.
  • Help ensure smooth communication between Legal and implementing offices.
E. Compliance and Case Support
  • Assist in gathering supporting documents for legal opinions, board matters, and investigations.
  • Prepare simple case summaries, checklists, and matrices for review.
  • Support tracking of demand letters, administrative complaints, and legal correspondence.
  • Help monitor deadlines and action items related to compliance or legal risks.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Bachelor of Laws, Legal Management, Political Science, or other legal or pre-law courses.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a paralegal, legal assistant, or compliance role.
  • Preferably with exposure to non-profit, humanitarian, or development work.
  • Experience in legal drafting, formatting and legal procedures, supporting litigation or administrative cases.
  • Knowledge in handling confidential documents and legal filing systems.
