Job summary

Tech Mahindra in Manila is seeking an Optical & IP Engineer (L1) to provide technical leadership for optical transport services and ensure operational excellence across the optical network domain. You will monitor alarms, triage incidents, and manage ticketing with cross-functional teams.

This role requires experience in carrier-grade environments and proficiency with BTI PVX Carrier Ethernet ERPS, Nokia SDH platforms, and ROADM/WDM technologies.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years in optical network operations.
• Experience in carrier-grade environments.
• Proficient with BTI PVX Carrier Ethernet ERPS and Nokia SDH platforms.
• Familiar with ROADM, WDM, DWDM/CWDM, and SDH/SONET.
• Ability to monitor, triage and communicate incidents.

Responsibilities

• Monitor alarms and events using NMS tools.
• Acknowledge and triage incidents.
• Execute standard operating procedures.
• Create and update tickets.
• Communicate incident updates to customers.
• Coordinate with vendors and field teams.
• Escalate unresolved issues to L2 teams.
• Support shift handoffs and reporting.
