Responsibilities

• Oversee daily manufacturing and operational activities to ensure targets are met and deadlines are maintained.
• Monitor production schedules, resource allocation, and workflow to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
• Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance protocols across all operations.
• Manage and supervise operational staff, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs and improvements.
• Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure smooth material flow and timely delivery of products.
• Develop and implement cost reduction strategies whilst maintaining quality standards.
• Respond promptly to operational challenges and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Liaise with senior management on operational performance, budgets, and strategic initiatives.

About the role

LEC STEEL MANUFACTURING CORP. is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our dynamic team in Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimising our manufacturing and logistics operations. As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient production schedules, managing resources effectively, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety across all operational activities. This role is central to achieving our company's strategic objectives and supporting our continued growth in the steel manufacturing sector.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily manufacturing and operational activities to ensure targets are met and deadlines are maintained
• Monitor production schedules, resource allocation, and workflow to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime
• Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance protocols across all operations
• Manage and supervise operational staff, including recruitment, training, and performance management
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs and potential improvements
• Analyse operational metrics and generate reports to inform management decisions and identify areas for continuous improvement
• Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure smooth material flow and timely delivery of products
• Develop and implement cost reduction strategies whilst maintaining quality standards
• Respond promptly to operational challenges and implement corrective actions as needed
• Liaise with senior management on operational performance, budgets, and strategic initiatives

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience in operations management within manufacturing or heavy industry environments
• Proven track record in managing production operations, logistics, or related fields
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly within steel production or similar heavy manufacturing sectors
• Excellent understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and best practices
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret operational data and make informed decisions
• Proficiency in operations management systems and software
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is advantageous
• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
• Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Operations Management is a plus
