Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking an experienced Logistics Operations Lead to oversee daily freight forwarding activities, including import, export, and consolidation shipments. You will supervise consolidation operations, coordinate with shipping lines and forwarders, and ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.

• Oversee and manage daily logistics and freight forwarding operations.
• Manage consolidation operations including receiving, booking, planning, deconsolidation and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with shipping lines, forwarders, consolidators, truckers, warehouses, brokers, and overseas agents.
• Supervise preparation of consolidation manifests, cargo reports, and shipment schedules.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, shipping line requirements, and company policies.
• Lead and train the Operations Team to ensure accurate processing of shipments.
• Resolve issues such as delays, documentation discrepancies, shortages, damages, and booking problems.
• Communicate cargo status, vessel schedules, delays, and delivery arrangements to clients.
• Review costs and help control trucking, warehousing, handling, port charges, and related expenses.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and filing of documents.
• Prepare and monitor daily/weekly/monthly operational reports and metrics.
• Coordinate between warehouse, trucking, documentation, customs brokerage, and forwarding operations.
• Handle escalated customer and operational concerns and drive corrective actions.

Job description

• Oversee and manage daily logistics and freight forwarding operations, including import, export, and consolidation shipments.

• Manage LCL/FCL consolidation operations, including cargo receiving, booking, consolidation planning, deconsolidation, and shipment coordination.

• Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, consolidators, truckers, warehouses, customs brokers, and overseas agents.

• Supervise the preparation of consolidation manifests, cargo reports, and shipment schedules.

• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, shipping line requirements, company policies, and international freight forwarding procedures.

• Lead, train, and supervise the Operations Team to ensure efficient and accurate processing of shipments.

• Assign workloads, monitor employee performance, and ensure operational deadlines are met.

• Resolve operational issues such as shipment delays, documentation discrepancies, cargo shortages/damages, booking problems, and customs concerns.

• Communicate with clients and provide timely updates regarding cargo status, vessel schedules, delays, and delivery arrangements.

• Review operational costs and help control expenses related to trucking, warehousing, handling, port charges, and other shipment-related activities.

• Maintain accurate shipment records and ensure proper filing of operational documents.

• Prepare and monitor daily/weekly/monthly operational reports and performance metrics.

• Ensure proper coordination between warehouse, trucking, documentation, customs brokerage, and forwarding operations.

• Handle escalated customer and operational concerns and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.

• Ensure proper handling and security of cargo throughout the consolidation and transportation process.

• Perform other operational and managerial duties as assigned by management.
