Job summary

Asiacargo in Manila seeks an Operations Manager to oversee warehouse and logistics operations, driving safe, efficient processes and continuous improvement in information flow and business systems. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in operations management or related field and 5 years’ experience in Logistics/Warehousing.

You will optimize layout, coordinate inbound/outbound activities, supervise staff, maintain GWP, and manage subcontractors to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develops warehouse operations system improvements by analyzing workflow, manning and space requirements.
• Plans layout, product flow, and handling systems; evaluates new equipment and processes.
• Implements cost-reduction programs in warehouse and transport activities.
• Analyzes variances and initiates corrective actions to meet financial targets.
• Ensures day-to-day inbound, warehouse and outbound activities are executed timely.
• Schedules and assigns staff; monitors performance to achieve KPI targets.
• Oversees subcontractor trucking performance and ensures on-time delivery.
• Maintains Good Warehouse Practices (GWP) and safety standards.
• Establishes guidelines for efficient logistics activities and optimizes security procedures.

Manages the overall operations and is responsible for the effective management of works/tasks, productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set for the Operations Department. Ensure safe and efficient operations. Develop the operational procedure, systems and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, management reporting and looks for opportunities to expand business. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company’s policies and applicable laws.

Job Description

• Develops warehouse operations system improvements by analyzing process work flow, manning and space requirements, equipment layout and implementing changes.
• Develops warehouse design by planning layout, product flow, and product handling systems, evaluating and recommending new equipment and processes.
• Conceptualizes and implements cost reduction programs in all aspects of warehouse and transport transactions.
• Analyzing variances and irregularities, initiates corrective actions to meet warehouse operations financial targets.
• Ensures that the day to day activities of the operations from inbound, warehouse and outbound are executed on a timely manner.
• Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning of employees. Monitoring of their work results.
• Oversees duties as required to ensure daily KPI performance is achieved.
• Ensure that GWP (Good Warehouse Practices) are being implemented.
• Create guidelines and procedures for effective and efficient logistics activities.
• Promotes constant motivation among staff to strive for an efficient and effective warehouse administration.
• Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
• Ensures proper maintenance of Cold Storage Machines & MHEs, providing both preventive maintenance programs and all necessary repairs. Ensures that the warehouse personnel have a safe, efficient equipment in order to perform the distribution functions.
• Oversee subcon truckers performance on transportation.
• Establish quality transportation services and processes with the subcon truckers.
• Manage performance of subcon truckers with emphasis on lead time compliance, productivity, cost efficiency, and on- time delivery.
• Fleet management, these includes outsourcing and accreditation of truckers
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in operations management or related field / courses

Experience :

• At least three (5) years of strong background in operations preferable related to Logistics / Warehousing. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures(Cold Storage)
