Job summary

GM Philippines Inc. is seeking a Production Support Engineer for a hybrid role reporting to the Manila office three times weekly.

You will support enterprise applications, databases, integrations, and scheduled jobs, focusing on incident management, data validation, and continuous improvements across DDS, DVX, D2C2, and BPO services. The role requires 3–5 years in related fields, strong SQL and ETL experience, and familiarity with scheduler tools, REST APIs, and ITIL processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in system administration, production support, infrastructure operations, database operations, application support, data integration, or a related discipline.
• Strong SQL proficiency for querying, troubleshooting, and data validation in relational databases.
• Experience with ETL and data integration, data pipelines, batch processing, file transfers, APIs, and troubleshooting data-flow failures.
• Working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON/XML, middleware concepts, integration monitoring, and interface debugging.
• Experience with incident-management practices, including root-cause analysis, log analysis, and production recovery.
• Knowledge of ITIL or comparable service-management practices (Incident, Problem, Change, Release).
• Experience with enterprise job schedulers (Tidal, AutoSys, Control-M) and batch-processing support.
• Basic understanding of Java or .NET apps and distributed-system concepts in production support.
• Strong written and verbal English communication for senior IT stakeholders.
• Willingness to work night shift (8:00 PM to 5:00 AM PH).

Responsibilities

• Implement and support enterprise systems, applications, infrastructure services, databases, and data flows per procedures.
• Monitor health and analyze alerts, logs, and metrics to identify faults and risks.
• Triage and resolve production incidents through multi-level troubleshooting and RCA.
• Administer access controls, permissions, and security configurations.
• Validate data with SQL and support ETL/data pipelines and API integrations.
• Support releases, deployments, and environment onboarding with rollback considerations.
• Assist with backup, recovery checks, and disaster-recovery readiness.
• Maintain runbooks, documentation, and support procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and deliver requirements.
• Track work, incidents, SLAs, and provide status updates to leadership.
• Develop automation and scripts to improve repeatability and support efficiency.
