Job summary

Onward Worldwide Management & Consultancy is seeking an IT Systems Administrator in the Philippines to maintain and optimize our IT environment. You will perform system checks, apply patches, and support users with Tier 1 and 2 issues, collaborating with the IT team.

The role requires strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, AD, and virtualization, plus networking, CCTV/NVR setup, and cloud admin skills. Fluency in English is essential; Chinese is a plus.

Responsibilities

• System Maintenance: conduct routine checks, updates, and patches to ensure health and functionality of IT systems.
• Incident Response and Troubleshooting: respond to system incidents, identify root causes, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
• Monitoring and Optimization: implement and maintain system monitoring tools to preempt issues and optimize configurations.
• Service Improvement: identify opportunities for enhancements and participate in technology upgrades.
• Problem Solving: track and resolve system issues to ensure stable operation.
• Documentation: write technical documents, user manuals, and training materials for team use.

Responsibilities:

• System Maintenance:

  • Conduct routine system checks, updates, and patches to ensure the health and functionality of IT systems.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to perform preventive maintenance tasks on servers, networks, and associated components.

• Incident Response and Troubleshooting:

  • Respond promptly to system incidents, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system performance and functionality.

• Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Implement and maintain robust system monitoring tools to proactively identify potential issues.
  • Analyze system performance metrics and optimize configurations to enhance overall efficiency.

• Service Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for service improvement and collaborate with relevant teams to implement enhancements.
  • Participate in planning and executing technology upgrades to meet evolving business needs.

• Problem Solving: Track and resolve system issues, ensuring stable system operation, and take preventive measures to reduce future problems.

• Documentation: Write technical documents, including system specifications, user manuals, and training materials, to ensure a thorough understanding of the system by the team.

Qualifications:

• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support to end users.
• Strong knowledge of PC troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of network troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall management.
• Strong knowledge of configuring and maintaining LAN/WAN networks.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco, Ubiquiti, or Fortinet equipment and software.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux, including installation & configuration.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy configuration.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V.
• Strong knowledge of antivirus/malware tools, firewalls, and secure network practices.
• Strong Knowledge of data protection policies, access rights, and backup procedures.
• Knowledge of Cloud server administration knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of Google Workspace environments is a plus.
• Experience in Setting up, configuring, and maintaining CCTV and NVR systems is a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Fluency in Chinese communication is highly preferred.
• CCNA is a plus.
