Qualifications

  • Registered Mining Engineer with a valid license or registration in the Philippines.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience operating mining design software such as Deswik, Surpac, and Minesched.
  • Knowledge of geological models, resource estimates, and scheduling.
  • Strong writing, communication, and field documentation skills.

Responsibilities

About the role

The Mine Planning Engineer's primary duty is responsible for developing, maintaining, reviewing, and optimizing mine plans and designs for the Company's mining projects, supporting both strategic and operational decision-making across various project phases, from feasibility through development and operations.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead the development and periodic updates of short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans aligned with project milestones, safety standards, and operational targets.
  • Interpret geological models, resource estimates, and geotechnical inputs to generate mine designs and production schedules using appropriate software (e.g., Deswik, Surpac, Minesched).
  • Work closely with the geotechnical, hydrogeological, and processing teams to integrate technical parameters into robust mine designs and schedules.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of the MCB Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), Updated Feasibility Study (FS), and other technical documents, providing detailed planning outputs and sensitivity analyses and ensuring completion of outcomes within the project timeframe and in accordance with the Philippine Mining laws and regulations, and other applicable principles and standards.
  • Analyze operational scenarios, identify risks and bottlenecks, and recommend mine planning solutions to support efficient project execution.
  • Assist in the overall project development execution, including all field activities and documentation.
  • Act as a technical resource representing the company during internal and external stakeholder technical meetings/presentations or interfaces with relevant national government agencies.
  • Collaborate with third-party contractors, ensuring alignment with approved scopes, timelines, and safety and environmental standards.
  • Support permitting and regulatory submissions by providing technical data, maps, and documentation required under DENR, MGB, and EMB regulations.
  • Work closely with the project team to develop and maintain an overall project schedule, foreseeing typical risks, challenges, delays, and cost implications, and recommending solutions to overcome potential problem areas.
About you
  • Registered Mining Engineer
  • At least 5 years of work experience in the mining industry
  • Knowledgeable in MS Office (Project, Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Can operate AutoCAD and Mining Software/s such as Deswik / Surpac / Gemcom / Minesched
  • Sound knowledge of Philippine mining and environmental laws and regulations
  • Experience with environmental and safety management/documentation
  • Experience or background in DENR-EMB-MGB reportorial requirements, documentation, and processes is an advantage
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Able to perform field activities and on-site assignments
