Job summary

Zamboanga Nickel Corporation is seeking a Geologist to support mine operations in Gutalac, Philippines. The role focuses on monitoring block extraction, grade control, and data analysis to assess mineral quality and quantity.

The successful candidate will prepare geologic reports, maps, and documentation, supervise junior staff, and uphold HSSE policies in a demanding field environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology is required.
• Licensed Geologist status is required.
• Ability to work in challenging field conditions.
• Willingness to work a 12-hour shifting schedule (day/night).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools is expected.
• Experience in nickel laterite mining is a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of QGIS and Surpac is a plus.

• Coordinate with Mine Operations to optimize extraction by monitoring mine blocks (geology and grade).
• Conduct geology activities related to grade control (pit mapping and sampling).

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and collaborate with Mine Operations Division to optimize extraction processes by monitoring the mining of mine blocks (geology and grade)
• Conduct mine geology activities related to grade control such as pit mapping and related sampling (face, pre-pile, stockpile, etc)
• Prepare and analyze geological data to assess mineral quality and quantity
• Prepare geologic reports, maps, sections and documentation
• Supervise and mentor Mappers and Aides
• Oversee, ensure and implement the company's Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) policies

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Geology
• Licensed Geologist
• Can work in challenging field conditions
• Can work in a 12-hour shifting schedule (day and/or night)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools
• Experience in nickel laterite mining is a plus but not required
• Knowledgeable in QGIS and Surpac software is a plus
