Job summary

Universal Robina Corporation Sugar and Renewables La Carlota Sugar is seeking a Mill Supervisor to oversee milling operations, ensure optimal juice extraction, and maintain equipment in a safe, compliant environment.

You will lead diverse teams, monitor KPIs, implement process improvements, and collaborate with maintenance, planning, engineering, and QA to sustain production, quality, and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, with preference for licensure.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in milling operations.
• Strong knowledge of milling processes, juice extraction, and equipment maintenance.
• Proficiency in process optimization and troubleshooting techniques.
• Proven ability to lead diverse teams and drive operational efficiency.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and resolve challenges.

Responsibilities

• Milling Operations Oversight: supervise daily milling operations for optimal extraction efficiency.
• Equipment Maintenance and Repairs: oversee maintenance, cleaning, and repair of milling equipment including cane prep units, mills, and conveyors.
• Team Leadership and Development: supervise operators, technicians, and staff; conduct daily shift meetings.
• Safety and Compliance: enforce safety protocols, GMP, and environmental regulations; conduct inspections.
• Process Optimization: analyze production data and implement improvements to enhance milling efficiency.
• Communication and Collaboration: coordinate with boiler, maintenance, planning, engineering and QA teams; report to Mill Manager.

What are the Roles and Responsibilities?

The Mill Supervisor oversees the milling operations within the sugar mill under the direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor. This role ensures efficient juice extraction, proper equipment functioning, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Mill Supervisor also leads operational teams, monitors performance, and implements process improvements to optimize productivity.

What are the Roles and Responsibilities?

1. Milling Operations Oversight:

   • Supervise and coordinate daily milling operations to ensure optimal extraction efficiency.

   • Ensure adherence to process parameters for consistent juice quality and operational stability.

   • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and adjust operational processes as needed.

2. Equipment Maintenance and Repairs:

   • Oversee routine maintenance, cleaning, and repair activities for milling equipment, including cane preparation units, mills, and conveyors.

   • Identify potential equipment malfunctions and collaborate with the maintenance team to implement corrective actions.

   • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and ensure adherence to preventive maintenance schedules.

3. Team Leadership and Development:

   • Supervise milling operators, technicians, and support staff, providing clear guidance and expectations.

   • Conduct daily shift meetings to align teams on production goals, safety measures, and operational challenges.

   • Support employee training and development initiatives to improve skills and efficiency.

   • Enforce company policies and best practices, fostering a culture of discipline and accountability.

4. Safety and Compliance:

   • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

   • Conduct routine inspections to identify and mitigate safety risks.

   • Promote a culture of workplace safety and continuous improvement.

5. Process Optimization:

   • Analyze production data and implement process improvements to enhance milling efficiency.

   • Collaborate with maintenance, planning and engineering and quality assurance teams to maintain consistent operational performance.

   • Support initiatives to optimize energy consumption and reduce waste.

6. Communication and Collaboration:

   • Coordinate with boiler, maintenance, and production teams to align operations with overall plant goals.

   • Report milling performance, challenges, and corrective actions to the Mill Manager.

   • Ensure effective communication across shifts to maintain continuous operations.
