Job description

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor the cane milling system using the DCS to achieve optimal milling efficiency and juice extraction.
• Adjust process parameters in real-time to maintain consistent operational targets.
• Ensure smooth operation of cane carriers, mills, juice heaters, and related auxiliary equipment.
• Coordinate with field operators for equipment checks, manual adjustments, and troubleshooting.
• Continuously monitor process indicators (pressure, temperature, flow, power consumption, and extraction levels).
• Record and analyze operational data, reporting deviations and abnormalities promptly.
• Prepare daily shift reports on mill performance, downtime, and production output.
• Ensure compliance with company safety protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and environmental regulations.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies following established safety and shutdown procedures.
• Report equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or near-miss incidents.
• Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams for preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Support commissioning, shutdown, and start-up activities of milling equipment.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and recommend optimization strategies.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Mechanical Engineer.
• With at least 2–3 years of experience in plant operations, preferably in a sugar mill, bioethanol, or related process industry; however, fresh graduates who are licensed are also encouraged to apply.
• Prior experience with DCS/SCADA operations is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of cane milling process and equipment.
• Proficiency in DCS operation, troubleshooting, and process monitoring.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment in milling operations.
• Good communication and coordination skills for teamwork in shift operations.
• Attention to detail and ability to respond quickly under pressure.
