Job summary

SPX Express in the Philippines is seeking a Middle Mile Planner to oversee the truck network from Sorting Centers to Regional Centers and hubs, ensuring enough trucks, fast deliveries, and cost efficiency. You’ll forecast daily/weekly truck needs, align departure times with warehouse schedules, manage 3PLs, optimize load space, and plan backup routes for peak sales.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or logistics, plus 2+ years in routing or fleet operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
• 2+ years in truck routing, fleet operations, or logistics planning.
• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets (vlookups, index/match, pivot tables); SQL/Tableau a plus.
• Strong communication with stakeholders and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Truck Capacity Planning: Create daily and weekly plans to forecast how many trucks we need based on incoming parcel volumes.
• Schedule Coordination (Ops Clock): Align truck departure times with warehouse sorting schedules to avoid idle parcels.
• Vendor Management: Follow up with 3PLs to ensure trucks arrive on time and as promised.
• Load Optimization: Monitor truck space utilization to minimize half-empty trucks and map backloads for efficiency.
• Peak Season Preparation: Plan extra truck supply and backup routes for major e-commerce sales.
• Performance Tracking: Build/update sheets to report costs, delays, and utilization to management.
