Job summary

ALSONS ENERGY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION is seeking a Mandarin Translator to bridge communication between project teams and Mandarin-speaking contractors and stakeholders in large-scale infrastructure, energy, and construction projects.

The role requires at least 2–3 years of Mandarin-English interpretation and strong coordination skills, with engineering or construction project experience preferred. Site-based work and exposure to EPC projects are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Mandarin-English interpretation experience, preferably in engineering or construction contexts.
• Strong coordination and communication skills across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience with project support, reporting, and documentation workflows.
• HSK 4-5 or equivalent Mandarin proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with project teams, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and vendors.
• Interpret in real-time between Mandarin, English, and Filipino-speaking stakeholders.
• Assist in meetings, site inspections, construction activities, testing, commissioning, and engagements.
• Translate project documents, technical reports, meetings, schedules, and updates.
• Track actions, submissions, clarifications, and follow-ups to keep projects on schedule.
• Support project documentation, reporting, and communication management.
• Foster collaboration across multicultural teams and minimize communication gaps.
• Contribute to quality, safety, and operational excellence.

About the role

As a Mandarin Translator, you will combine your technical knowledge, language expertise, and coordination skills to help ensure smooth project execution from planning to completion. You'll become the vital link between project teams and Mandarin-speaking contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders in large-scale infrastructure, energy, and construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with project teams, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and vendors to support project execution
• Facilitate clear communication and provide real-time interpretation between Mandarin, English, and Filipino-speaking stakeholders
• Assist in technical meetings, site inspections, construction activities, testing, commissioning, and contractor engagements
• Translate project documents, technical reports, engineering correspondence, meeting minutes, schedules, and project updates
• Track project action items, submissions, clarifications, and follow-ups to help keep projects on schedule
• Support project documentation, reporting, and communication management
• Help strengthen collaboration between multicultural teams and minimize communication gaps
• Contribute to quality, safety, and operational excellence across project activities

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Electronics, Industrial, or related field) OR Bachelor's Degree in Chinese Studies, Linguistics, International Studies, Communication, or related field with relevant engineering or construction project experience
• At least 2-3 years of experience in Mandarin-English interpretation, technical coordination, or project support
• HSK Level 4-5 or equivalent Mandarin proficiency certification is an advantage
• Experience in engineering, construction, infrastructure, renewable energy, power, or EPC projects is highly preferred
• Experience working with Chinese contractors, suppliers, or engineering teams is an advantage
• Site-based project experience is a plus
