Job summary

SUMEC Energy (PH) seeks a Chinese Interpreter/Translator to support daily communication, document translation, government coordination, and cross-cultural collaboration throughout the project.

You will interpret between Mandarin-speaking management and Filipino employees, government agencies, community representatives, and project stakeholders, and translate contracts, reports, manuals, and other materials for the project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Translation, Linguistics, English, Communications, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide oral interpretation between Mandarin-speaking management and Filipino employees, government agencies, community representatives, and project stakeholders.
• Translate contracts, reports, manuals, HSE documents, official correspondence, and other project-related materials.
• Assist during meetings, trainings, site inspections, and emergency drills, including preparing bilingual meeting minutes.
• Support communication with government agencies (DOLE, DENR, DOE, LGUs) and community representatives.
• Help bridge cultural and language differences between Chinese and Filipino teams.
• Provide administrative and translation support as assigned by management.

What You’ll Do:

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Translation, Linguistics, English, Communications, or a related field
• HSK Level 4 or above (or equivalent Chinese proficiency) is preferred
• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, English, and Filipino (Tagalog)
• At least 2 years of professional interpretation or translation experience
• Experience in power, energy, construction, or infrastructure projects is an advantage
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Willing to work onsite in Bugallon, Pangasinan and adapt to a project-based environment
