The Logistics Officer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the efficient transportation, delivery, storage, and distribution of materials, equipment, and supplies. The role ensures smooth logistics operations, timely delivery schedules, proper inventory management, and coordination with suppliers, drivers, and project sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics & Transportation
- Plan and coordinate daily logistics operations and delivery schedules
- Monitor movement of materials, equipment, and company assets
- Coordinate with drivers, suppliers, and project/site personnel
- Ensure timely delivery and proper dispatch of materials and supplies
- Track shipments and resolve transportation issues or delays
Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Monitor inventory levels and warehouse stock movement
- Ensure proper receiving, storage, and issuance of materials
- Conduct regular inventory checks and reconciliation
- Maintain accurate logistics and inventory records
Procurement Coordination
- Coordinate with purchasing and suppliers regarding deliveries
- Verify delivery receipts, purchase orders, and related documents
- Ensure materials delivered meet quantity and quality requirements
Fleet & Equipment Monitoring
- Monitor company vehicles, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules
- Ensure vehicle registrations and permits are updated
- Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance of vehicles/equipment
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare logistics reports, delivery monitoring, and inventory summaries
- Maintain organized records of deliveries, shipments, and transactions
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and safety standards
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with different departments regarding logistics requirements
- Respond promptly to operational concerns and delivery issues
- Support project operations through efficient logistics planning
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
- At least 2–3 years of experience in logistics, warehouse, or supply chain operations
- Knowledgeable in inventory management and transportation coordination
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and coordination abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
