Job summary

Aeven is seeking a Level 1 Linux/Unix Operations Engineer to provide operational support for Linux/Unix servers across on-premises and cloud environments. Based in Manila, you will join a 24x7 global support organization with teammates in Denmark, India, and the Philippines, ensuring stability, availability, and performance of critical systems.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Linux/Unix operating systems and server administration.
• Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience supporting Linux/Unix systems in a production environment.
• Experience working with IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms, preferably ServiceNow.
• Ability to independently identify, troubleshoot, and resolve common Linux/Unix operating system issues.
• Capable of performing routine patching, maintenance activities, and operating system upgrades with minimal supervision.
• Understanding of system monitoring, log analysis, and incident management processes.
• Knowledge of scripting and automation technologies (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible) is considered an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 operational support for Linux/Unix server environments in on-premises and cloud infrastructures.
• Monitor, investigate, and resolve incidents, alerts, events, service requests, and change activities.
• Perform routine system administration tasks, including OS patching, security updates, and OS upgrades.
• Adhere to policies and procedures to ensure service quality and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional infrastructure teams to support projects and troubleshoot issues.
• Identify risks and opportunities for service improvement and recommend solutions.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and process workflows related to Linux/Unix administration.
• Participate in knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement of operational practices.
